Protokół jest tekstem, który ma na celu przekazanie końcowemu odbiorcy, specjaliście lub nie, zespołu czynności, jakie muszą zostać wykonane w danych warunkach. Protokół może zostać napisany w celu natychmiastowego wykonania lub stanowić instrukcję dla odbiorcy na temat postępowania w razie zagrożenia bezpieczeństwa.
